Music is the breathing of the soul

Everything in nature sings and vibrates: all creatures emit vibrations which are diffused around them in the form of musical waves. This is why it is true to say that everything in nature is music. There is music in a rushing stream, in the murmur of a spring, in the patter of raindrops, in the roar of a cataract and the ceaseless ebb and flow of the ocean waves. There is music in the voice of the wind, in the rustling of leaves and the chirping of birdsong. And the music of nature constantly arouses and stimulates the musical element in human beings, kindling in them the desire to express themselves through the medium of a musical instrument or through song. When human beings feel the need to communicate their feelings and emotions it is to music that they turn spontaneously: when they want to express their deepest religious sentiment they turn to music; all their joys and sorrows. their love and every profound experience is expressed in music. Music is the breathing of man’s …

Befriending the Earth

“The universe we live in is not closed to us. We make all kinds of exchanges with it: physical, psychic and spiritual ones. Either consciously or unconsciously, we vibrate and breathe both with it and in it. But why then do humans so often feel like strangers here on earth? Because they are not aware of what they need to do for the earth to know them. The earth carries them and feeds them, but they come and go in every direction along its highways and byways without ever thinking about what they owe it. Do you want the earth to get to know you, to be friends with you? When you go walking in nature, stop from time to time, bend down or sit on the ground, place your hand on it, stroke it and tell it, ‘O earth, my mother, how I appreciate your stability, your firmness and your generosity! By showing my respect, my gratitude and my love, I want to give back a little of all that you give me.’ And …

Speaking nature's language

If you want to communicate with nature, the very least you can do is to accept the idea that she is alive and intelligent. Most human beings behave as though nature were dead, and the result is that their own inner life vibrates less powerfully and with less intensity and their God-given faculties of perception and sensation are gradually paralysed. ‘What is the point’, they ask, ‘of trying to communicate with rocks, plants or the sun? They’re not alive.’ With this attitude they dull the edge of their own faculties and put themselves in a straight-jacket of their own making. He who believes that nature is alive and intelligent, on the other hand, makes an effort not only to understand her language but, also, to find new means of expression that allow him to communicate with her…. The Creator has given us all kinds of means by which we can express our thoughts and desires and, even if we don’t receive any striking response, our words do have an effect on objects, on trees, on …

The future

Misfortunes are the past, not the future. Before the future can present itself – that is to say, your true future as sons and daughters of God – it is waiting for you to finish drawing lessons from the past. This future is on the move: since you are creating it, you are already beginning to live it. Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov

Mountain heights

Whenever we notice a distant mountain, we instinctively sense it represents a link between  heaven and earth. In most mythologies, a mountain is considered the dwelling place of the gods. Perhaps this is simply a symbolic representation, for the image of a mountaintop is always associated with the divine world. But it is also reality: mountain summits are antennae which establish  communication between heaven and earth.   Omraam Mikhael Aivanvov Far from the noise and disorder of human life, mountain summits are inhabited by extremely pure and powerful entities. It’s not always possible to climb to such heights to meet them, but whenever the opportunity arises, try to establish contact with them. Whenever you see a summit in the distance, think of holding your hand out towards it; greet the luminous entities that dwell there and ask them to draw you towards them so that you may enter their purity and light. By learning to connect  yourself to the summits of mountains, you will receive the very best nourishment for your soul and spirit. Omraam Mikhael …

The whole of nature is alive…

“When initiates open their door in the morning, before doing anything else, they salute nature: the trees, the sky, and the sun, the day itself and the whole of creation. You will wonder why they do that and the answer is – that is how they put themselves in direct contact with the source of life. Yes, for nature responds to their greeting… How often have I gone out into my garden in the morning and greeted the angels of the four elements, the angels of fire, air, water and earth, and even the gnomes, nymphs, sylphs and salamanders. And when you do this you see them dancing and singing for joy. I send greetings to the trees, the rocks, and the wind, too. Try it yourself and you will feel that something inside you slips into place and becomes more harmonious, and that many elements of obscurity or misunderstanding fade from you simply because you have decided to salute living nature and the creatures that dwell within it. You might think, ‘What difference does …
