Video:Meditate on light…

People think there is nothing they can do to help or improve humanity as a whole. Well, it might seem like an impossible task- it is certainly gigantic-but if you learn certain methods, you will see that all of a sudden it becomes possible…Try to imagine, for instance, that the whole of humanity is condensed into a single being, standing there by your side, and you hold the hand of this being and give them quantities of light and love. When you do this, some minute particles go out from your soul, and the love you give this one being reflects on every being in the world; they begin to  conceive nobler thoughts and desires in their heart. If hundreds and thousands of people on earth did this exercise, you would see the breath of a new, divine spirit in humanity, and without knowing how or why, they would one day wake up to find themselves completely transformed. Inner silence opens the doors to divine consciousness

When you succeed in creating a state of inner silence, peace and light, you are able to reach, for a moment at least, the regions of your soul and spirit that you have carried within you since the very beginning. Most human beings are not even aware of these regions that are so difficult to attain in everyday life. For, just as they are unaware of what goes on in their subconscious, they are also oblivious to what goes on up on high, in heaven, in their spirit, and in their divine consciousness. For example, when you meditate on a spiritual question that you find difficult to solve, you go deep into yourself to seek an answer. After some time, enlightenment gradually emerges from this silence, and you receive an answer. What happened? Where does this comprehension come from? Your spirit knew the answer but your consciousness was not yet able to rise up that far, But now, far from the hustle and bustle, your thoughts can soar into space and you receive a revelation. …

The Voice of Silence

“Silence, peace and harmony are all expressions of the same reality. Do not think that silence is empty and mute, no, silence is alive and vibrant, it speaks and sings. One day, thanks to contemplation, prayer and meditation, you will manage to hear the voice of silence. Once all the chaotic forces within you have finally subsided, silence will draw closer, it will spread all around you and enfold you in its marvelous mantle… You must understand that silence is the condition absolutely indispensable for the true Word, for true revelations. During silence, little by little, you begin to sense the messages which come to you, a voice begins to speak to you. It is this voice which warns, guides and protects you….. If you do not hear it, it’s because you are making too much noise, not only on the physical plane, but also in your thoughts and feelings. If you want this voice to speak to you , you must install silence within yourself.  This voice is sometimes called ‘the voice of silence’; …

Entering the silence

“We all need silence. We particularly need the silence of nature, for it is in nature that we have our roots. Sometimes, when you are alone in a forest or up in the mountains, you feel as though you were being carried back into a distant past, into an era in which human beings were in communion with the forces and the spirits of nature. And if the call of a bird or the sound of a waterfall is heard, it is as though these very sounds were part of the silence: rather than destroying it, they emphasize and contribute to it…. For, quite often, we are not even conscious of silence; we don’t notice it. It takes the sound of a twig snapping, a bird singing or a pebble falling to suddenly awaken us  to an acute perception of the silence around us. Even the subdued roaring of the waves cannot destroy the profound silence of the oceans. Many people confuse silence with solitude. That is why they are afraid of silence: they are …

Why meditate?

The master Omraam gave many original lectures on meditation and contemplation which I have found really useful in my own spiritual practice. The first one I am sharing focuses on the basic question of why we need to meditate if we want to make progress in our spiritual life: There are many different degrees to meditation. And we must understand that meditation is more than reflection. To meditate means to focus on a subject,  a quality or virtue, on something that you are either lacking, or wish to develop. But you will not have any desire to develop a particular quality or virtue such as  kindness, generosity, peace, light, wisdom or love, (there are so many qualities and virtues), unless you cherish a high ideal. But what is this high ideal? It’s to want to become something better than ordinary- by which I mean purer, more perfect, more intelligent, more powerful, in fact, to become a model, an example. Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov If you do not have this ideal of becoming an example, of perfecting …

Does God speak to us?

Does God speak to us? Yes, since God is within us, he speaks to us. His voice is very soft, and we must learn to distinguish it amid all the other voices asking to be heard inside our body, our heart and our intellect. It can be compared to the melody of a flute in the midst of the clamour of cymbals and bass drums. It is easy to hear and follow the thunderous voice of the stomach shouting in hunger or that of our sexual organs demanding a victim. But when a small voice says to you, ‘Calm down, learn to master yourself, make an effort’ more often than not, you ignore it, or even try to suppress it. Patiently, with love, the voice repeats its advice, but if you are determined to silence it, it no longer insists. The voice of God is very powerful, but it is weak within us if we do not want to listen. Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov For more posts on learning to listen to God: The voice of …

Into the light

I speak to you only of yourselves, of realities that exist within you. Even if you are still not aware of their existence and do not fully understand what I am referring to, I know that through my words I am contacting an entity whose only wish is to come into the light. This entity can be compared to a lotus that begins to develop underwater before blossoming on the surface. Things are born, take shape and begin to grow in the darkness of the subconscious. By the time they rise to awareness, they are no longer in their early stage but have almost reached completion, because they have already been in motion for a long time. In the same way, my words awaken in your deepest being a presence, a spiritual entity, which will one day emerge, like the lotus flower, to blossom above water. Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov

Universal Spirit lives in all people

“When I’m travelling and I arrive in a new town and see great crowds of people in the streets, I think of how these men and women each have their own life, their own history, their problems to resolve, their suffering and their loves, and of how there is a Being that sustains them all because it lives within them. If you also tried to have this thought from time to time, you would broaden your field of awareness; you would discover new regions where you would come into contact with higher entities. Instead of troubling yourself with all sorts of useless or futile concerns, which do nothing but weaken you, concentrate on the universal Spirit, on the heavenly Father who created us, who carries and sustains us and lives in all his creatures. In this way, you will escape the burden of everyday existence, and you will feel the connection between your earthly self and your heavenly self begin to be restored.”  Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov Daily Meditations More on universal consciousness- True consciousness – …

Love, Venus and Roses

“Whenever you admire the blooms on a rose bush, remember you are standing before living creatures, descended from the planet Venus. You may ask how roses could possibly originate from Venus, given that conditions on that planet are not hospitable to life… That’s true but for initiatic science the planets are not just the physical, material bodies studied by astronomy;  for initiatic science, the planets are passage ways, they are intermediaries between cosmic currents and the earth. Through the intermediary of the planets, the earth receives currents and influences of which God is the distant source. That is why, since time immemorial, initiates have associated the planets with  qualities and virtues; the Moon to purity, Mercury to intelligence. Jupiter to generosity etc. So the planets serve as reservoirs of currents that travel through space and, according to their nature, become condensed on earth in such and such receptacle. Roses are receptacles for currents from Venus, the currents of love. If we know how to approach them we will receive some of this love.” Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov …

Miraculous powers of love- effective meditation

When first setting out in the spiritual life, most people encounter a first obstacle: they are unable to meditate because they do not know how to concentrate. Why? First, because they have not learned how to choose subjects for meditation; they throw themselves into it blindly, with no method. The first rule is to choose a subject of a spiritual nature, and the second, a subject that is something heartfelt. The love you have for a person or an object is what attaches you to him or it. When you do not love, you are, if I dare say so, like a stamp without glue: you will not stick! Beginners make the mistake of wanting to concentrate right away on the most abstract, philosophical and mystical matters: truth, eternity, infinity, the Absolute, or the supreme Being… Begin instead by concentrating, for example, on a pure, beautiful image that you love, an image of nature or art. In this way, your brain will become accustomed to concentrating, and gradually you will be able to meditate on …
